What is Stylage Mesotherapy and what does the treatment involve?
Stylage Mesotherapy (also known as intradermal therapy) involves injecting hyaluronic acid and an antioxidant using micro-injections into the dermis (middle layer of skin) where it is needed; to improve skin hydration and elasticity in the area(s) treated. Skin appears more hydrated, smoother, plumper, brighter with improved elasticity and tone.
This treatment also harnesses the benefits of micro-needling which stimulates special cells called fibroblasts and helps to improve communication between cells to increase the production of collagen and elastin.
A numbing cream is generally used prior to the treatment to help make it as comfortable as possible for you (unless you have an allergy to any of it’s ingredients). I always ask if you have any social engagements coming up so that we can time the treatment appropriately.
Before & After Mesotherapy With Hydromax
What are the benefits of Stylage Mesotherapy?
Stylage mesotherapy is a great preventative and anti-ageing treatment. Addition of the antioxidants helps to protect against damage from free radicals and oxidative stress which leads to cell and tissue damage.
The treatment is suitable for all skin types.
What are the differences between Stylage Hydro and Stylage Hydromax?
They both contain high concentrations of hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin.
Stylage Hydro can be used as an all over facial treatment to improve hydration and skin tone, delay the appearance of skin ageing and provides a protective shield against free radicals and oxidative stress. Stylage Hydromax can be used more specifically to help treat very dry / intensely dehydrated skin, smooth out creased sagging skin and improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the face, neck, décolletage and backs of hands. It can also be used to treat dehydrated lips, providing a very subtle plumping effect.

How many treatments do I need?
I recommend a course of 3 treatments at intervals of 3-4 weeks followed by a maintenance treatment approximately every 3 months. Individual results may vary.
As with all treatments, results are also affected by age, cumulative sun exposure, overall health and any underlying medical conditions, lifestyle, genetic traits, general skin condition and skincare regime.
How long does the treatment take and what can I expect after a treatment?
The treatment usually takes approximately 45-60 minutes (including application of a numbing cream).
As with all treatments that involve using a needle, you may experience some redness, mild pain, skin sensitivity, bleeding or itching following the procedure which should settle within 48-72 hours.
You may notice some superficial bumps after treatment with Stylage Hydro. These usually disappear within 48-72 hours as the hyaluronic acid spreads across, hydrates the dermis and integrates producing a smoothness. I recommend massaging these using clean hands (wearing gloves ideally) during the first few days until the bumps settle down. I take precautions to reduce the risks of infection.
Is mesotherapy suitable for everyone?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is best to wait until you return to your usual routine before having this treatment.
Similarly, if you have any active skin conditions affecting the area to be treated such as acne or cold sores (herpes), it is best to wait until this resolves.
I DO NOT recommend this treatment if you have a tendency to develop raised scars or keloid scars. In terms of medical conditions, medications and allergies, this is something that I would discuss during our initial consultation.

How can I look after my skin post treatment?
Make sure to apply a mineral sunscreen ideally factor 50 with a high PA rating daily for at least 2 weeks and avoid direct sun exposure for at least 24 hours after treatment.
Avoid make-up for at least 24 hours or until any redness and post-injection swelling has settled completely.
Avoid aerobic exercise, vigorous physical activity, extreme heat or extreme cold for at least 48 hours or until any redness and post-injection swelling has completely settled.
